£123k Cookstown Kitchen Scheme Complete

Twenty-two Housing Executive households in Cookstown have had their kitchens revamped as part of a £123,000 improvement scheme.

Homes in Sullenboy Park had their kitchen layout revised to provide additional space for kitchen appliances.

Electrical and plumbing installations were upgraded, with tenants able to select new kitchen units and worktops from a range of colours and finishes.

PK Murphy Construction Ltd carried out the works, under the Housing Executive's Egan style approach.

District Manager Ivan Armstrong said: "We aim to provide our tenants with the best possible service we can in terms of quality, efficiency, value for money and customer satisfaction.

"Seana Hippsley, Customer Services Manager with PK Murphy has worked with us and has also dealt with the whole process of consultation, improvements and finishing touches."

Ms Hippsley said it was a pleasure to work with tenants in Cookstown.

"They have all been very co-operative throughout and I know that they appreciate their new kitchens," she said.

"We are committed to achieving high quality and 100% satisfaction from all residents.

"By striving for zero defects we are providing residents with a kitchen they can be proud of."

Sullenboy Park resident Elizabeth McGarrity said she is delighted with her new kitchen:

"It’s lovely to have a nice new modern kitchen. It was an added bonus to be able to pick the units and worktops myself and I love the fact that I have all this extra cupboard space."
