Housing Executive Structural Works In Antrim

A £1.5m improvement scheme is nearing completion on 49 Housing Executive properties in Antrim.

Homes on Dublin Road have had their internal layouts redesigned, and in some cases extensions have been built.

Structural works have facilitated the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms, and upgraded central heating systems and replacement windows.

Electrical and plumbing services were also upgraded and extensive internal and external general repairs and environmental improvements carried out.

A number of adaptations have been undertaken for tenants or family members with particular needs.

Six one bedroom bungalows in the Dublin Road scheme have been extended to accommodate an additional bedroom.

Antrim District Manager, Patsy Smyth, described the contracts as an important boost for the area.

"I am delighted that these residents and others are settling back into their refurbished homes and are pleased with the end result," she said.

"This considerable investment in Antrim demonstrates the Housing Executive’s commitment to improving tenants' homes and the local community."
