Register Now To Claim Up To £1,000 For Boiler Replacement

Homeowners across Northern Ireland can register now for a new boiler replacement scheme funded by the Department for Social Development.

The scheme offers a grant of up to £1,000 to replace inefficient boilers, with energy efficient condensing oil or gas boilers; switching from oil to gas; or switching to a wood pellet boiler.

The scheme is open to owner occupiers who earn less than £40,000 and with an inefficient boiler of at least 15 years old. The grant is dependent on total gross income.

Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland is asking homeowners to register now: He said: "I would encourage homeowners who meet the criteria to register now so their information can be logged ahead of the scheme opening. They can also begin to make enquiries about the type of new boiler they would like to have installed and book ahead with a local installer, so they can get the work done as quickly as possible."

All those who register will be contacted again by Housing Executive Grants staff when the scheme opens in September and in the meantime, can make enquiries with heating installers on their preferred new system.

The scheme, administered by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, could see more than 16,000 homes across Northern Ireland become more energy efficient.
