Low Income Homeowners Qualify For Retrofit Scheme |

Clare Fine Gael Senator Tony Mulcahy has welcomed the change in qualifying criteria for householders wishing to undertake energy efficiency retrofits in their homes under the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland’s (SEAI) Better Energy Warmer Homes scheme.
Senator Mulcahy said he has received confirmation from the SEAI that the 55 million euro scheme is available to eligible low-income householders, owning and living in a home built before 2002. Homeowners can benefit from a number of works under the scheme, including attic insulation, draught proofing, lagging jackets, energy efficient lighting, cavity wall insulation and energy advice.
