Eirgrid Awarded Carbon Trust Standard |

EirGrid has been successful in being awarded the Carbon Trust Standard, making the organisation one of the first companies in Ireland to achieve this certification.
The Carbon Trust Standard was awarded following an independent assessment last month of the EirGrid headquarters at Shelbourne Road, Dublin.
- - - - - - Advertisement - - - - - - The Carbon Trust Standard certifies organisations for real carbon reduction and commitment to ongoing reductions. The Carbon Trust Standard was developed by the Carbon Trust in 2008 to encourage good practice in carbon measurement, management and reduction by businesses and other organisations.
EirGrid Chief Executive Dermot Byrne commented: "This is an important, external recognition of continuous improvements in the environmental performance or our organisation."
