Kildare VEC Awarded Patronage Of Two New Schools

Minister for Education & Skills, Ruairí Quinn T.D. has granted the Patronage of two new schools (one in Maynooth and one in Naas) to Kildare VEC.

Welcoming the announcement the VEC Chairman Cllr Mark Wall said: "This announcement is a tremendous vote of confidence in Public education and in particular the model of education on offer by Kildare VEC. As Chairman I extend my congratulations and those of my fellow VEC members, to all involved in securing these projects for Kildare VEC."

The Chief Executive Officer of Kildare VEC, Sean Ashe, extended his thanks to the many parents who voted in significant numbers in support of Kildare VEC as patron and to the teachers and staff who worked tirelessly to achieve this outcome.

Mr Ashe further stated that these projects are significant for Kildare VEC, as the construction of the two schools in Maynooth together with a new primary school for St Davids in Naas and a significant extension to St Conleths in Newbridge have been devolved to the VEC.

He set the target date for delivery of these projects as September 2014.
