Roads Service Announces Resurfacing Works On M1

Roads Service today announced plans to start eight km of resurfacing work on the M1 Eastbound between Junction 14 Tamnamore and Junction 12 The Birches.

The road works will be completed over two weekends, Friday 10 August to Monday 13 August 2012 and Friday 17 August to Monday 20 August 2012.

Mark McPeak, Roads Service's Project Manager said: "These essential works will strengthen the M1 so that it can carry today’s very high traffic volumes, provide a high quality and an even running surface, thereby improving the safety and comfort of road users.

"The works operations and traffic management arrangements have been carefully programmed in the summer months to minimise inconvenience to the travelling public, however, some disruption will be unavoidable and we would ask that motorists be patient as these essential works progress. Closures will be restricted to overnight and weekends. A diversion route will be signed during all closures."
