H&W To Develop Its Expertise In The Renewable Energy Industry |
|
Alliance MLA Chris Lyttle has praised moves by Harland and Wolff to develop its expertise in the renewable energy industry.
The MLA for East Belfast congratulated the local company after it completed a 1,500 tonne renewable energy substation, bound for a wind-farm close to Liverpool.
Mr Lyttle MLA said: "This is an excellent piece of work by Harland and Wolff. Hopefully this will be the first of many orders of this kind, providing a welcome boost to Northern Ireland's economy.

"The Alliance Party is a long-time supporter of renewable energy. We want to see a Green New Deal adopted across Northern Ireland and will be calling for a Renewable Energy Support Bill to come before the Assembly as part of this.
"Harland and Wolff has recognised the importance of the renewable energy field and this step has opened the company up to a wider market. By not pursuing a renewable energy strategy, Northern Ireland is missing out on future potential investments."
