Receiver Appointed To Greenstar Recycling |
|
Responding to the news that a receiver has been appointed to Greenstar Recycling, Sinn Fein spokesperson on the Environment, Community and Local Government, Brian Stanley TD has demanded that Minister for Environment Phil Hogan intervene and introduce the long awaited regulations for the domestic waste collection industry.
Deputy Stanley said: "Greenstar is a major player in the waste industry employing 800 people. To simply shut up shop is unacceptable. The chaos this brings is a result of unregulated privatisation. This industry is in serious need of regulation. I have raised the need for regulations on a number of occasions with Minister Hogan.

"The public deserves better. The public demands action. Regulations need to be drafted and agreed as a matter of urgency."
