No New Local Authority Housing For Bray |
|
Town councillors in Bray have expressed dismay over a central government decision to freeze local authority house buying.
Elected representatives were told that no approval will be given to councils this year for the purchase of any new houses.
Triona Irving, a local housing officer, said the news had emerged recently at a department housing action plan meeting.

The information was released following a question from councillor Anne Egan.
Ms Egan said that there were a number of units waiting to be bought.
Councillor John McManus pledged support for the local construction section.
"I don't mind as long as we are building and providing work for construction," he said.
